Professor Norman Stein spoke at the “Re-Imagining Pensions,” conference on Feb. 22 in Washington, D.C., joining other leading policy experts and government leaders to examine new and innovative pension plan designs aimed at improving retirement security.
Deputy Assistant U.S. Treasury Secretary Mark Iwry and Assistant U.S. Labor Secretary Phyllis Borzi also appeared at the conference, which was sponsored by Covington & Burling LLP, the Pension Rights Center, and the Urban Institute. Stein joined the panel which discussed ways to reduce and share pension plan risks, increase plan coverage and expand retirement income options.
Stein is a nationally recognized authority on pension law, employee benefits and tax law. In addition to producing a rich body of scholarship, he is a senior policy advisor to the Pension Rights Center and frequently testifies before Congress.
